Rangers’ forward line still has some gaps, even after Philippe Clement added a couple of new players.

Oscar Cortés signed a loan-to-buy deal, and Hamza Igamane has also joined, aiming to fulfill his potential.

While the right-wing remains a concern, it appears that Rangers are finally addressing the striker shortage that has plagued them in recent seasons.

Rangers have been linked with a move for former target Tyrese Campbell.

Tyrese Campbell, who was linked to Rangers during Steven Gerrard’s tenure, had significant potential but limited senior experience at the time.

Reflecting on the near move to Ibrox, Campbell, son of the late Everton legend Kevin Campbell, shared just how close he came to signing for Rangers:

“Yeah, there were a couple of points where a move was going to happen,” said Tyrese Campbell. “This was only really when I wasn’t really playing at Stoke, before I signed my new deal. I was 19, turning 20 – I needed to play football.

“It was just one of those things where – nothing against the club or manager or players, anything like that – just me needing to play. It was literally just that, but the manager at Stoke, Michael O’Neill, sat me down at the time and said, ‘What’s going on?’.

“I said I’ve got nothing against the club, I just need to play. He said, ‘If I pick you, are you going to play?’ and I said, ‘Yeah, of course. I’m not going to not play. I don’t want to leave. I’m happy here.’ I played those games over Christmas and then went from there.”

A move for Tyrese Campbell could be a clever decision by Rangers.

According to The Daily Mail, Rangers are reportedly considering a move for Tyrese Campbell once again, having kept tabs on the striker’s situation since January.

Although the 24-year-old isn’t prolific, with a goal contribution every three games for Stoke City, he could be a useful backup option. Standing at 6 feet tall and capable of playing on either wing, it’s clear why Philippe Clement might be interested in offering him a contract.

Historically, successful Rangers teams had a core group of strikers rather than relying on just one or two. Danilo is expected to overcome last season’s injury troubles and lead the line, with Cyriel Dessers serving as a competent backup—if he remains with the team. Igamane is the exciting prospect, potentially making a significant impact similar to Alfredo Morelos when he first arrived.

Campbell’s versatility as a forward makes him a valuable addition to the squad. Given their tight budget, Rangers might be able to secure a bargain.
