Birmingham City are on the verge of finalizing a deal for Go Ahead Eagles midfielder Willum Thór Willumsson.

According to De Telegraaf, the 25-year-old Icelandic midfielder is set to become the latest player to leave the Dutch club this summer. This follows the departures of coach René Hake, captain Bas Kuipers, and midfielder Philippe Rommens.

Willumsson is expected to join Birmingham City for a fee of €1.5 million, as the club aims to strengthen its squad for an immediate return to the Championship. English sources have confirmed the transfer, reflecting Birmingham’s ambitious plans following a disappointing last season.

De Telegraaf reports that a deal is in place, and they are confident Willumsson will move to St Andrew’s soon. However, details about his contract terms have not been disclosed yet. A medical at Birmingham is likely to be scheduled soon, given that the two clubs have reached an agreement.
