Smith, who has become a free agent after his contract with Stockport County expired, has been weighing his options and has decided to move to Scotland.
The goalkeeper has agreed to join Scottish Premiership club Hibernian, although details about the duration of his contract have not been disclosed yet. His arrival will bolster Hibernian’s goalkeeping options ahead of the upcoming season at Easter Road.
Smith, who served as backup at Stockport County last season, featured in five matches across competitions such as the EFL Trophy and the FA Cup.
Having previously played for Nottingham Forest, Smith brings experience from his 54 appearances with the Tricky Trees. He has played up to Championship level in England and is now poised to make an impact at Hibernian as he joins the Scottish Premiership club.
