Key Players’ Timely Return from Injuries Gives Raiders Big Boost for Clash Against Warriors.

The Toyota Forklifts Canberra Raiders are poised to receive a significant boost ahead of their round 20 clash against the Warriors, with the timely return of injured players Jamal Fogarty and Zac Hosking.

The Raiders, currently placed 11th on the ladder, have struggled with a series of disappointing losses, having been defeated in six of their last nine games.

Before their injuries, Fogarty and Hosking played pivotal roles in the team’s strong early-season form, which saw the Raiders rise to third place after round six.

In 2024, Hosking made a notable impact for the Raiders, scoring two tries in five appearances and maintaining a stellar tackle efficiency of 95%, with 142 successful tackles.

Both players are set to make their comeback next week, aiming to inject renewed energy into the team and break their recent losing streak to reclaim a spot in the top eight.

Fogarty has been sidelined since suffering a bicep rupture in a clash against the Brisbane Broncos in round seven at Suncorp Stadium, while Hosking has been recovering from a dislocated shoulder and subsequent ligament damage sustained in round six against the Titans at home.

Despite the challenges of rehabilitation, Fogarty has remained motivated, focusing on returning to the field and contributing with his skill and energy.

“It’s been mentally refreshing to train without the pressure of match days,” Fogarty commented. “I’m feeling fresh and excited to get back on the field.”

For Hosking, the prospect of returning this season has provided crucial motivation during his rehabilitation process.

“The possibility of returning this year kept me focused on rehab,” said Hosking. “I’m eager to support the team and help lift the intensity as we aim to finish the season strong.”

Both players have drawn strength from each other during their recovery, sharing a mutual determination to return to peak form and contribute positively to the team’s performance.

Looking ahead to their comeback in round 20, Fogarty and Hosking are eager to make an impact and influence the Raiders’ trajectory for the remainder of the season.

“We’ve been targeting this return date for a while now,” Hosking stated. “I can’t wait to be back on the field and contribute to the team’s success.”

All eyes will be on Fogarty and Hosking as they prepare to face the Warriors at GIO Stadium in Canberra this Friday night, with fans hopeful for a turnaround in the Raiders’ fortunes with their return.
