Derby County has strengthened their defense following the signing of Ebou Adams. As they prepare for their return to the Championship, manager Paul Warne has focused on enhancing the midfield and attack. The Rams have already secured midfielders Ben Osborn and Kenzo Goudmijn, along with strikers Kayden Jackson and Jerry Yates at Pride Park.

Warne continues to prioritize improvements in midfield and attack, with reports suggesting that Cardiff City’s Ebou Adams is close to completing a move to Derby on a three-year contract. The 28-year-old Gambian’s transfer, valued at £900,000, has been in progress since the end of last season, indicating further strengthening for Derbyshire ahead.

Derby County are considering a move for Ipswich Town defender Elkan Baggott as they continue their summer recruitment drive. Manager Paul Warne has already secured four new signings, but he aims to bring in a total of eight more players before the transfer deadline.

According to reports from Indonesian outlet Sepakbola, Warne is now focusing on strengthening his defense by pursuing a loan deal for Elkan Baggott from Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town. The 21-year-old centre-back is reportedly seeking more playing time after Ipswich’s recent big-money signing of Jacob Greaves.

Derby County and League One side Wycombe Wanderers are both interested in Baggott, aiming to add depth to their defensive options. Currently, Warne has three choices in defense with Eiran Cashin, Curtis Nelson, and Sonny Bradley, but adding a fourth center-back could prove crucial as they prepare for the Championship campaign.

Baggott, a product of the Ipswich academy, has made seven senior appearances for the club since joining on a two-year scholarship in 2019. Most of his playing experience has come from loan spells at Kings Lynn Town, Gillingham, Cheltenham Town, and Bristol Rovers, where he impressed during his 14 appearances in League One.

Standing at 6 foot 5, Baggott is known for his commanding presence in defense, excelling in aerial duels. While he has yet to play in the Championship, he made history as the first Indonesian to feature in the EFL during Ipswich’s match against Rotherham in 2022.

Baggott’s potential loan to Derby County represents a low-risk opportunity for the Rams, although he may need to compete with established defenders Cashin and Nelson for regular playing time.
