Rangers are on the verge of securing a summer loan move for Sevilla midfielder Joan Jordan, according to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The experienced 30-year-old, standing at an imposing 6 feet tall, promises to bring both physicality and technical prowess to the Rangers midfield, honed over years of experience in La Liga.

While the deal for Jordan is not yet finalized, ongoing discussions indicate a strong possibility of him joining the Scottish club on loan.

Jordan isn’t the sole midfield target linked with Rangers this week. Reports also connect BSC Young Boys’ midfielder Chiekh Niasse with the Ibrox side, as they seek to bolster their midfield options.

The pursuit of Kenny McLean from Norwich City, however, appears to have hit a snag. Initially linked with a move to Rangers earlier in the summer, negotiations reportedly stalled over contract terms, prompting uncertainty over the transfer.

With Rangers manager Philippe Clement recently expressing praise for Mohamed Diomande and highlighting the Ivorian’s role in midfield, the potential addition of Jordan could further complicate McLean’s prospects at Ibrox.

Clement addressed Rangers’ transfer situation over the weekend, acknowledging the need to balance the books before making further moves in the market. He emphasized that the complexities of the transfer window could delay some deals until after the season begins.

As Rangers navigate their pre-season preparations, including a training camp in the Netherlands, fans await further developments on the club’s transfer activities amid a dynamic and evolving midfield landscape.
