Sheffield Wednesday are poised to potentially make ten signings by the end of this month, having recently secured their ninth addition with the acquisition of Nathaniel Chalobah on a free transfer over the weekend.
Despite pursuing Mickael Nade from Saint-Etienne, the midfielder has opted to extend his stay in Ligue 1 with a new four-year contract, thereby rejecting Sheffield Wednesday’s advances.
Manager Danny Rohl has expressed the need to reinforce the midfield and central defense, particularly in light of Di’Shon Bernard hinting at a possible departure from the club, as suggested on Instagram.
Nonetheless, the club remains active in the transfer market, with recent reports linking them to attacking reinforcements. Previously linked with Karamoko Dembele, who impressed during his loan spell at Blackpool with eight goals and 13 assists, Wednesday’s interest in the winger has continued amid competition from other EFL clubs, including Bolton Wanderers.
While the current status of their pursuit of Dembele remains unclear, journalist Alan Nixon indicated that Dembele has been “offered” to Sheffield Wednesday, suggesting a potential opportunity for the Yorkshire club.
Brest, where Dembele was previously based, may seek to offload the 21-year-old this summer to capitalize on his successful stint in League One, having originally acquired him on a free transfer two years ago.
