Los Angeles Dodgers Prioritize Trade for Pair of All-Star Outfielders.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are focused on bolstering their roster ahead of the MLB trade deadline, with starting pitching initially highlighted as their priority amidst injuries to Max Muncy and Mookie Betts. Despite a productive lineup featuring stars like Shohei Ohtani, Teoscar Hernandez, Freddie Freeman, and Will Smith, the Dodgers are exploring upgrades. Their current lineup boasts strong statistics: a .254 batting average (6th in MLB), .333 OBP (1st in MLB), .434 SLG (2nd in MLB), and 467 runs scored (2nd in MLB).

Even before Betts’ injury, the Dodgers were seeking a shortstop and evaluating outfield options. According to Jack Harris of The Los Angeles Times, the Dodgers are eyeing Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr and Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena. Robert, despite injury setbacks, has showcased power with 11 home runs and an OPS of .781. Arozarena, with 12 home runs and 13 steals, is valued by the Rays, although they may consider trading him due to future salary concerns.

Acquiring either player would likely involve parting with top prospects but would significantly bolster the Dodgers’ lineup with another All-Star caliber bat. However, the team’s immediate priorities remain starting pitching and relievers, followed by securing an outfielder to further strengthen their roster.
