Derby County owner David Clowes stated that the club is evaluating multiple players amidst speculation about Ebou Adams’ potential permanent move in the upcoming transfer window.
Adams, 28, joined Derby on loan from Cardiff City in January, bolstering their midfield options under manager Paul Warne. His arrival significantly strengthened the team’s defensive resolve, contributing to their promotion back to the Championship with just nine goals conceded in his 17 League One appearances.

Clowes acknowledged Cardiff’s role in any potential deal, humorously stating, “At the end of the day, he’s a Cardiff City player, I mean they’re going to have a say in this, aren’t they?” He emphasized that while Adams made a substantial impact, Derby is also considering other players: “There’s not only Ebou, there’s a lot of players we’re looking at so you can’t just set your heart on one player.”
Reflecting on Derby’s transfer strategy, Clowes highlighted fiscal prudence under current ownership, emphasizing the importance of making sound financial decisions.
